This book is a great adventure. Always something unexpected around the corner and characters who are a little different than the usual. Pick up for a good read and add some spice to your library.
I love the 1st person narrative, especially from the humble, initially insecure , Jonny. His perception of his situation had me laughing while shaking my head. I was immediately immersed, the support characters added depth along with humor. It was equal parts amusing & gratifying to watch Jonny transform from bumbling actor wanna be, to lethal slayer of monsters. Highly recommend the series.
You have to read, read again, read some more. The characters are family before the first book is ended. This is one of the most original approaches to monsters, magic and humanity saving I've ever read. A humble guy called to be more than he thought he could be. Anyhoo, I've got the series in paperback. Recommend you do too.
I love everything I have picked up that Jonathan writes. This series is especially fun with its supernatural-is-normal-but-it’s-a-secret, now-go-kill-the-bad-ones urban setting. I love the characters. Great series
